“Long” Rides
The programmed rides are normally on the first Sunday of the month – see the rides programme. They are around 40 miles in winter and 60 in summer with 1 or 2 cafe stops and suit riders who ride regularly. They last up to 6 hours including cafe stops. For ride starting locations see long rides starts map. In addition some club members ride together on weekly impromptu rides on the other Sundays and also Wednesdays. For more information see our Facebook page or contact Alf 01782 953511 or Geoff 01782 626346.
“Medium” Rides
These are impromptu monthly Sunday morning rides, usually on the first Sunday of each month. They suit riders with some experience of on road cycling but are at a leisurely pace and cover around 30 miles, lasting around three and a half to four hours including a cafe stop. They mainly use quieter roads and lanes but also some short sections of main road. Other Rides
Occasionally leisure rides are organised. These are open to the general public and suit the more casual cyclist, combining some limited on road cycling with more extensive use of greenways, canal towpaths etc. These are arranged on an ad hoc basis, and recent ones have been run in conjunction with Potteries Heritage, with regular stops for an expert to explain local points of interest.
